2016 Hatching Eggs Now Available

2016 hatching eggs are now available.  We are thrilled with the arrival of our first 2016 poults from our Midget White breeding program.  We have now hatched two large batches of 50+ poults each and are comfortable with fertility rates at 88% or greater.  As in the past we are breeding fromtwo breeding groups:  Group 1 contains the two old toms from 2013 six of the best females, with excellent small size and carcasses, from my 2015 hatches.  Group 2 consists of two really great toms from 2015 and four of my best old hens from 2012, 2013 and 2014 hatches. 

Order your hatching eggs now as our waiting list is growing.  We will do our best to include eggs from at a rate of 50/50 from each pen and individually marked on each egg.

We have updated our online store and are now listing hatching eggs, started poults and breeder adults as available for purchase.  We have no waiting list on hatching eggs as the hens are laying very well.  Started poults will be available starting in late March.  Order now to reserve your poults.  Breeder birds will be available this fall.  Cheers, Mike

2015 Breeding Season Begins

I am very excited to be in the full swing of the 2015 breeding season for Midget White turkeys here on the farm.  I have established two breeding groups:  Group 1 contains the best male from 2012 and a second male that is the best of my 2013 birds along with twelve of the best females from my 2014 hatch.  Group 2 consists of two really spectacular males from my 2014 hatching and the best twelve females from my 2012 and 2013 hatches.  The first batch of eggs from these groups had a fertility of 75% and 84% respectively, the second batch was 90%+ from both groups.  Hatching eggs ordered from me will be 50/50 from each pen and individually marked on each egg.   We are shipping eggs out each Monday and Tuesday.  Cheers, Mike

Sale on young started and breeder adult birds

I am reducing down my Midget White flock to only the birds that I will be using for the 2015 breeding season. The remaining birds as are excellent breeder stock but I simply don't need this many birds for my own freezer so I am offering the following at substantial discounts over my normal prices (normally adults are $100 each). Birds have been free ranged and fed a custom milled feed made of local (Oregon, Washington, Idaho sourced) non-GMO feed.  I have the following available:
8 week poults: six @ $20 each. Sex unknown as still young.
12 week poults: five males and six females. $25 each.
20 week poults: six females and 8 males. $30 each or $80 per trio.
1 to 3 year old adults (best for breeding): 25 females and 5 males. $40 each or $100 per trio.

2014 Breeding season has begun

The 2014 breeding season is in full swing here at Mike's Midget Whites.  We have two breeding pens set up for this year.  Pen 1 consists of my favorite old tom (3 years old) over 10 young hens (1 year old).  Pen 2 consists of a very nice young tom (1 year old) over 10 old hens (2-3 years old).  The hens are laying quite well and we expect to have good fertility as the toms and hens have been mating often.
